Police: Driver crashes Corvette into trees trying to get away from detective

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 21-year-old man was arrested after he crashed his corvette into some trees during a police pursuit on Interstate 26 on Friday.

The North Charleston Police Department charged James Holland with failure to stop for blue lights.

According to authorities, a police detective was attempting to stop Holland's Corvette at I-26 and Dorchester Road for speeding. Police say that Holland did not stop and led a detective on a high-speed chase.

Authorities say Holland then lost control of his Corvette and crashed near the I-526 interchange. Holland then jumped out of the car, fled on foot and was caught by officers.

He was placed under arrest and charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
