COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Police are looking for two male suspects who shot a Blue Ribbon cab driver early Saturday morning, and officers said it's similar to two other incidents that have happened within the week.
The latest shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. near the 3,100 block of Hammond Avenue.
Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott said the cab driver picked the two men up in the 100 block of Bay Shell Drive, which is a vacant house. He said the cab driver was shot a short time later.
After the shooting, officers said the cabbie drove himself to a local hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
The incident remains under investigation. Officers said they're working to determine a motive at this time.
Chief Scott said his department has been meeting with Columbia cab companies to offer crime prevention and safety tips.
