2 charged in Lake Murray wine bottle beating death

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say two people have been charged with murder in the death of a man in his home near Lake Murray last month.

Lexington County deputies say 26-year-old Margaret Driggers and 28-year-old Demetriss Glenn beat the victim to death with a wine bottle after he struggled during a robbery last weekend.

Authorities say 45-year-old Timothy Tice was found dead in his kitchen in a pool of blood with the wine bottle in several pieces nearby.

Deputies say Driggers lied to investigators about being with Tice when he was killed. She was arrested Thursday, and Glenn was arrested Friday.

They are being held at the Lexington County jail without bond. It wasn't clear if they had attorneys.
