One of the College of Charleston's top starting pitchers will be back for his senior year. The school confirmed David Peterson will not sign with the Astros, who took him in the 49th round of the MLB Amateur Draft last month.
Peterson started 15 games for the Cougars this past season, going 5-6 with a 4.52 ERA.
He was 2011 Preseason All-SoCon Second Team selection, led the team in strikeouts in 2010, and made Collegiate Baseball's 2009 Freshman All-American squad.
His decision means CofC should have all three of its weekend starters back next season.
