Ladson couple wins $100,000 in lottery

COLUMBIA, SC - The Lottery couldn't have scripted a better reaction. When a Ladson man showed his wife his winning lottery ticket, she screamed, flailing her arms and the ticket about. He followed with a manly fist pump and yell.

The screams continued after the $100,000 winning Money Machine scratch-off ticket sparked the celebration.

The couple is predicting a repeat performance when they pay off their cars and credit cards.

"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood," said the husband accepting the check.

Four top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Money Machine game. The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 384,000.

Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. Li'l Cricket in Ladson received $1,000.
