There is a new commander at Joint Base Charleston.

Col. Richard McComb was welcomed to the base in a change of command ceremony this morning. He becomes the new leader of the Air Force and Navy here after serving at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

During Colonel Meeker's tenure, Joint Base Charleston was established as one of the Department of Defense's first 12 joint bases.
