CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Goose Creek man was sentenced to four years in jail Tuesday for possession of child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 57-year-old Richard Roderick pled guilty in federal court and was sentenced to four years in prison and lifetime supervised release.
Evidence presented established that Roderick downloaded and traded child pornography on the Internet, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Authorities learned of the illegal activates while interviewing Roderick in an unrelated fraud investigation.
A federal search warrant was executed at his home and agents seized numerous computers during the search. A forensic computer examination found hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on Roderick's computers.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Goose Creek Police Department.
