NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest will be in Charleston on Friday for season 11 auditions. The auditions are just two days away, but if you plan on belting out your best song, first you will need to sign up.
Registration is going on right now at the North Charleston Coliseum. Thousands of potential contestants began registering at 7 a.m. Those who signed up received a wrist band for Friday morning's auditions where they will arrive at 5 a.m.
Auditions are expected to start around 8 a.m. Friday. Contestants will not be allowed to camp out on site. Once getting a wrist band during registration, people will need to leave and return Friday at 5 a.m.
Seacrest will attend Friday's auditions, but unfortunately for fans, judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are not expected to be in Charleston.
The last time American Idol was in town for auditions was during season 7.
If you would like to audition for American Idol, you must be a U.S. citizen and between the ages of 15 and 28.
Registration will be open until 8 a.m. Friday morning.
