Man wanted for armed robbery at Andolini's in West Ashley

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery in West Ashley over the weekend.

The Andolini's at 1117 Savannah Highway was robbed around 10:30 p.m. on  Saturday.

Victims told police that a man entered through the front door wearing a black hooded long sleeve shirt, black pants and gloves and a cloth over his face. According to police reports, the suspect had a gun in his hand when he arrived.

The manager of Andolini's told police when the robber entered the building, the customer ran outside. He also said the suspect approached a different employee who was sweeping the floor and hit him in the stomach and threw him on the ground.

Police said the suspect then pointed the gun at the manager and demanded he get money out of the safe. The suspect then ran out of the back door with an unknown amount of cash, hopped in a small sedan and took off.

Police are investigating.
