Heat stalls horse-drawn carriage tours

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC)- Excessive heat forced horse-drawn carriage tours in downtown to stop for about an hour this afternoon.

When the temperature reaches 98 degrees and stays there for 15 minutes carriage tour companies are required to take the horses off the streets said City of Charleston spokeswoman Barbara Vaughn.

Tours were brought to a halt around 12:30 pm and resumed at 1:30pm.
