Cops: Correctional officer burns sister's face, arms with iron

ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - Bond was set at $25,000 for a correctional officer accused of burning her sister's face and arms with an iron in Orangeburg.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office charged 30-year-old Nathasha Livingston with first-degree assault and battery on Thursday.

According to investigators, Livingston burned her 20-year-old sister on her face and arms with a hot steam iron during an argument on Tuesday.

The victim suffered second-degree burns to her leg, face and arms.

"In my 24 years in law enforcement, this ranks as one of the more horrific cases of siblings fighting with such devastating injuries," says Sheriff Leroy Ravenell."This is an unfortunate incident that escalated quickly into a criminal act that could have been avoided."
