Fire destroys tobacco barns in Williamsburg County

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Three tobacco filled barns burned to the ground in Williamsburg County early Monday morning.

The county fire department was called around 3 a.m. to the 400 block of Red Road off Highway 527 near Kingstree.

Officials say $25,000 in tobacco went up in smoke. Investigators think lightning struck one of the buildings.

No one was hurt.
