DHEC inspecting fuel tanks following highway closure

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Inspectors from the Department of Health are in Williamsburg County after fuel tanks were pushed to the surface by high water from recent rains.

It happened Tuesday at Betty's Quick Stop on Highway 41 in Hemingway. The road was shut down for hours.

DHEC inspectors are making sure the tanks are stable and that the ground isn't contaminated with fuel that may have spilled.
