What looked like top secret military maneuvers on board the U.S.S Yorktown on Wednesday was actually a drill.
Members of the North Charleston Police Department's SWAT team invaded the old gray lady Wednesday as part of a training exercise.
They were practicing repelling off the flight deck of the aircraft carrier to a waiting police boat below on the river.
Supervisors say drills like these – especially on hot days – keep officers on their toes and in top shape for a real emergency.
The drill took place around 2:30 p.m.
