Authorities still looking for man who allegedly shot construction worker

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are still looking for a man who allegedly shot a construction worker while he was working in Walterboro in July.

The shooting happened on July 16 at a construction site on Green Pond Highway, according to the Colleton County Sheriff's Office.  The 64-year-old victim, an employee of Hiers Construction Company, called 911 around 4:43 a.m. after being shot three times from behind.

Bullets struck the victim in the shoulder and head area according to Colleton County Sheriff George A. Malone.  He was transported by Colleton County Fire and Rescue workers to Colleton Regional Hospital, and was then flown to a medical facility in the Charleston area.

The suspect is described as a slender, light-skinned male standing around 5'6" to 6'.
