BAMBERG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A single-vehicle accident in Bamberg County Friday afternoon killed two passengers and sent four others to the hospital, including the driver.
The crash happened around 12:10 p.m. on Charleston-Augusta Road near Bamberg.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the 1994 Ford Explorer was traveling north when the driver lost control and flipped the vehicle.
The 40-year-old driver was taken to Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Troopers said two of the passengers inside the vehicle died at the scene. They went on to say the one passenger was wearing a seat belt while the other was ejected from the vehicle.
There were also three additional passengers that were airlifted to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital with what troopers called serious injuries.
The patrol's MAIT team is currently investigating the crash.
