All is quiet in the waters close to home, but the Atlantic Basin is coming alive as the peak of the Hurricane Season is upon us.
There are two strong tropical waves that have moved off the African coast over the past few days are both are showing signs of organization. Tropical wave 92L is to the west of the Cape Verde islands and 93L is just off the African coast.
These will be moving westward across the Atlantic over the next several days and may develop into a tropical depression over the weekend.
All of the reliable forecast models bring both systems to named storms over the upcoming days and move them to the west toward the Lesser Antilles in about five days or so.
It is too early to tell if the storms will have any impact on the Lowcountry at this point, but we will continue to monitor the systems.
