Woman allowed to keep selling baskets on Seabrook Island

SEABROOK ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

A Sweetgrass basket maker will be allowed to keep selling baskets on Seabrook Island for the rest of the summer.

Seabrook Island Mayor Bill Holtz says he will meet with owners of Bohicket Marina on Friday to try to come up with a solution. Officials with Bohicket Marina gave Lillian Huger permission to do business there if she applied to the town for a permit.

Huger applied for the permit, but said town administrator Randy Pierce told her it was against the law for her to operate a business under a tent on the marina lawn.
