Crews finished up work on Interstate 26 eastbound near the Dorchester Road exit Tuesday morning. The construction caused heavy traffic delays over the weekend and Monday.
Traffic was at a slow crawl on I-26 because of the construction early Monday morning. Crews started the work Friday night and were supposed to be finished at 5:30 a.m. Monday, but ran into some delays.
Spokesman Earl Capps says crews were doing drainage work.
The $66 million project will widen nearly three miles of I-26 from Ashley Phosphate Road to the Mark Clark Expressway.
A new completion date has not been set.
