Bond set at $80k for motoryclist in fatal highway accident

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Bond was set at $80,000 for a 34-year-old man arrested on Monday for a motorcycle accident in which the passenger fell off of his motorcycle and died on the interstate in Berkeley County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested Walter Lee Mungin Jr. Monday morning and charged him with reckless homicide and operating an uninsured vehicle.

The charges stem from a May 15 incident where officials say Mungin was traveling west on I-26 when his passenger, Ton'Yeka A. Williams, fell off the motorcycle onto the interstate. Troopers say Mungin was driving recklessly.

The accident happened just before the Jedburg Exit on I-26. Williams was transported by helicopter to MUSC where she died.
