LINCOLNVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Lincolnville town council decided to keep its police department intact.
A budget shortfall has gripped the town of 1,100 people. But in spite of it, town council voted to let the town's only full time law enforcement officer, the police chief, stay on the job.
A property tax increase is now on the table and if it goes through, the average homeowner in Lincolnville would see an increase of $16 a year.
Mayor Tyrone Aiken says there's a public hearing on Sept. 7 to discuss it more.
