MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Some big candidates in the 2012 presidential election will be swinging through the Carolinas this week.
Minnesota congresswoman and tea party favorite Michelle Bachmann will be in Columbia and Florence on Thursday as a part of her bus tour. On Friday, she'll be in the Lowcountry, making a stop at the U.S.S. Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant.
Fresh off her win in the Iowa republican straw poll, Bachmann is campaigning her way through South Carolina. She made stops in Spartanburg and Greenville.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be headlining a fundraiser in downtown Columbia on Friday. Perry announced his bid for president in Charleston last weekend.
