DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The former pastor of a Ladson church will be charged in two more rape and kidnapping cases in Dorchester County.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that 46-year-old Dale Richardson will face two more counts of criminal sexual conduct and two more counts of kidnapping. He will have a bond hearing on those charges at 4 p.m. Thursday in Summerville.
Sheriff's officials say one of the new charges stems from an alleged sexual assault in Jan. 2010. In that case, authorities say Richardson kidnapped a woman and raped her in his vehicle in Jedburg.
The second case, according to authorities, happened in Aug. 2010. Investigators say Richardson allegedly kidnapped a woman and sexually assaulted her in a trailer on the property of his former church.
Richardson is being held in the Charleston County jail on more than $1 million bail stemming from charges filed by Summerville and North Charleston police on similar charges of kidnapping and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
Most recently, Richardson was denied bond Aug. 10 on rape and kidnapping charges in Dorchester County.
Richardson was the pastor of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church. After learning of the allegations against Richardson, the congregation's State Executive Committee suspended his credentials pending the final outcome of the investigation.
In the statement, the Executive Committee of the Free Will Baptist Association says they were "shocked" at the list of charges against the pastor.
