Summerville man arrested after gun, 40 rounds found inside car

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a 36-year-old man after a gun and 40 rounds were found in a car outside a North Charleston club early Wednesday morning.

The North Charleston Police Department charged Tadarien Antroin King of Summerville with unlawful carrying of a pistol. Officers responded to Club Fantasy on 7240 Peppermill Parkway in reference to a possible shooting.

Investigators spotted King sitting in an SUV and began speaking with him.

A police report states that an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana and asked King to get out of the vehicle. King then consented to a search of himself and his vehicle.

Police say they found a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber gun in the car as well as 40 rounds underneath the front driver's seat.

King was then arrested and the SUV was released to the owner of the vehicle.
