JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Joint Base Charleston welcomed Gov. Nikki Haley Wednesday afternoon. She was on base for a ceremonial signing of the Overseas Citizens Absentee Voters Act.
Haley actually signed the act into law this past June. It makes it easier for South Carolinians living or serving abroad to vote in federal, state and local elections.
The new law requires they get ballots early, means they no longer need a witness and can be can be sent electronically.
