BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County school officials have lifted the lock down on Berkeley High School.
Berkeley schools spokeswoman Kathie Sizemore also said that Berkeley Alternative and Berkeley Elementary were both also put under lock down for a brief period of time, but the lock down had been lifted there as well.
Reports circulated earlier Friday that a man threatened to shoot or kill people at a school. The Moncks Corner Police Department say they investigated the reported threat and believe it was just a hoax.
According to Berkeley County schools spokeswoman Kathie Sizemore, placing a school on lock down is a precautionary measure whenever any suspicious activity is in the area of a school. Students are kept in their classroom during a lockdown.
