Cannonball found at Buist Academy construction site

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Construction workers were surprised to find a cannonball at the Buist Academy School on Tuesday.

According to the Charleston Police Department, workers unearthed the cannonball just before 5 p.m. at the school at the corner of Calhoun and Anson.

The CPD Bomb Unit responded to the scene and they will work with an explosives expert from the Air Force to dispose the potentially dangerous cannonball.
