NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Boeing marks two new milestones. Workers in the North Charleston plant are assembling the first new 787 to be made in South Carolina.
The rear section of the plane body was wheeled into the assembly plant this week. In the past, those sections were made in Charleston and flown to Washington state to be put together.
The company also opened its welcome center. The building houses a security checkpoint and meeting rooms.
