CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Government is returning to operating condition 5 after a conference call with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division Friday evening regarding Hurricane Irene.
Starting at noon on Saturday, Charleston County will return to day-to-day operations to include normal training and exercises based on the information learned in the conference call and the storm's current track.
"The threat of Hurricane Irene has passed and Charleston County has returned to OPCON 5. While the impact from Hurricane Irene was minimal, we should be reminded of the dangers of hurricanes. Now is good times to continue to review our personal plans before hurricanes threaten again," said Cathy Haynes, Charleston County Management Department's Chief of Operations.
