LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson has been released from The Lexington Medical Center after he was treated for a viral infection.
Wilson said he was glad to be released from the hospital Saturday and was thankful for the prayers and support from his constituents and others.
The Republican's office had said Wednesday he had been admitted to the hospital for treatment of an "extended fever."
Wilson told WVOC-AM in Columbia he thought he had Lyme disease, but tests revealed that was not the case. The cause of the illness has not been determined.
Wilson has been in Congress since 2001.
