NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 16-year-old found guilty of shooting and killing a Daniel Jenkins Academy student will appear in court for sentencing this week.

Last Thursday a jury ruled that Derrell Green, who was just 14 at the time of the shooting, killed 17-year-old Larry Maybank in February 2010.  Green was tried as an adult.  He is scheduled to appear in court this Thursday for sentencing.

Police say they found Maybank on Bonds Avenue near the Murray Hill neighborhood in North Charleston with several gunshot wounds.

Officers say the shooting probably stemmed from an earlier fight.
