CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Sheriff's Office says a man wanted for five charges, including failure to stop for a blue light in the Town of Hollywood, surrendered to authorities Monday night.
Authorities say 33-year-old Detroit Lamont Mitchell turned himself in around 7 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies say Mitchell was also wanted for driving with a suspended license and for failing to pay child support.
"Apparently he doesn't comply with his family court obligations, that's first and foremost we can see that," said Sharpe.
It's the failure to stop for a blue light charge that had cops concerned.
"Obviously he didn't care about anybody but himself and it's just by the grace of God no one was hurt," Sharpe said. "He may have been running because he knew he would go to jail if he stopped."
