Joe Riley facing 4 opponents for Charleston mayor

Charleston, SC (AP) - Charleston Mayor Joe Riley is facing four opponents as he seeks a 10th term in office.

The two-week filing period has ended and restaurant manager Joshua Kennedy, a political newcomer, has joined the race.

Author David Farrow, city Councilman Dudley Gregorie and teacher Craig Jelks had announced that they would also run for mayor.

Riley has served as mayor longer than anyone in Charleston's 341-year-history. The mayor is paid $163,000.
