Man locked up after gas station armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - One person is waking up behind bars Wednesday morning after being charged with armed robbery.

The crime happened around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Kangaroo on North Rhett Avenue in North Charleston.

According to the clerk, the suspect walked in armed with a knife and with a shirt covering his face.
Police say the suspect demanded cash from the register.

The suspect was later found hiding in the brush off the railroad tracks near Hyde and Durant Avenues.
