Bond set at $180k for trailer park shooting suspect

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Bond was set at $180,000 for a man suspected of a shooting at a Summerville trailer park.

Summerville police said Wednesday that 22-year-old Shawn Maurice Kitt was arrested in Orangeburg County.

Kitt is charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted by a crime of violence.

The shooting happened in the South Main Mobile Home Park last Thursday. Police say the gunman fired at least two shots through the victim's windshield when he tried to drive off. Two bullet holes ripped through the windshield of the car.

"Two folks were fighting," said Cpt. Jon Rogers with the Summerville Police Department. "One gentleman pulled out a gun while the gentleman was pulling out and shot several times into his car."
