Authorities release photos of armed robbery suspects

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance photos of two men wanted for an armed robbery at a store in Georgetown.

Authorities are asking for the publics' help in identifying the two suspects seen in the photos who robbed Gene's Country Store on Aug. 11.

Around 10:50 p.m., two male suspects dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks entered the store on 3630 Highmarket Street armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the employees.

Both suspects then left through the front door. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After leaving the store, the suspects ran towards Reed Court. The Georgetown County Bloodhound Tracking Team responded and the bloodhounds led handlers to an open area at the end of Reed Court where the bloodhounds lost the trail. Spin marks with car tire tracks were found going toward Player Street.

Anyone that can identify the suspects or has any information about the robbery is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5102.
