Area restaurants prepare for bi-annual Restaurant Week event

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's a way to get locals out to eat in Charleston at discounted rates. Charleston Restaurant Week returns again starting Wednesday and lasts for a week and a half.

Nearly 100 Area restaurants are offering deals during restaurant week. They'll offer pre-fixed menu items for either $20, $30, or $40.

At Charleston Crab House owner John Keener says they are gearing up for a busy week at all the Charleston area locations. Restaurants like the Crab House usually offer an appetizer, entree, and dessert for the fixed prices. Some restaurants even feed two people for the fixed cost.

"It's been a fabulous week. It's doubled our sales in our restaurant every week we've done it so we love it at the Crab House and all the restaurants in Charleston really love it," owner of Wapoo Creek Crab Shack John Keener said.

Restaurants say reservations for the week are already filling fast, so reserve your spots now. Restaurant week is sponsored by the Charleston Restaurant Association, and for more information you can visit their website. The event will run from the Sept. 7-18.
