Two suspects on the run after robbery, shooting at McDonalds

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - According the Mt. Pleasant Police Department two suspects armed with a pistol are on the run after robbing the McDonalds off Highway 17 in the Market at Oakland while customers were waiting for their breakfast shortly after the restaurant opened.

Authorities say at 6:45 Saturday morning the two male suspects entered the McDonalds and demanded money. The suspects fled the location with an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene in a vehicle described as a later model two toned Crown Victoria.

"I never dreamed of a McDonalds being robbed," an employee told Live 5 News. "There's too many people."

The employee say she was in the middle of her morning routine getting ready for the breakfast rush when the robbery took place.

"At first I thought it was just a joke," she recalled. "The guy ran up behind me, grabbed me and says this is a robbery. I looked at him and he put a gun in my face and said this is a robbery get down."

The employee says she got to the ground next to another worker and heard the pair head to the back of the restaurant, hollering at her manager and demanding money.

"I could her them dragging my manager across the floor back to the back," she says.

Then the unimaginable happened.

"It's the loudest thing I ever heard," says the employee.

She says one of the suspects fired his pistol, twice, into her manager before she heard the back door open and the pair slip out.

Although authorities haven't released a description of the suspects, the employee described the them as two black males. One with shoulder length dreadlocks, wearing a white shirt and black pants. She says the second suspect had on camouflage pants and a red shirt. She says both were wearing hoodie's pulled tightly over their faces to protect their identities the best they could.

Authorities say the manager of the store is in good condition.
