Bond set at $50k for suspect in McDonald's armed robbery

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Bond was set at $50,000 for a 27-year-old man suspected of an armed robbery at a McDonald's in Mount Pleasant.

Joseph B. Whiteside Jr. was charged with armed robbery and attempted murder.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department also arrested 20-year-old Timothy D. Taylor of Awendaw in connection to the armed robbery of the McDonald's at Ironclad Alley early Saturday morning.

Whiteside was taken into custody with the assistance of the Charleston County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team.

Authorities say the manager of the store was shot, but is in good condition.
