BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 23-year-old Summerville man was killed Tuesday after his truck ran off the road and hit several trees on Interstate 26.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office, 23-year-old Cornelius Anthony Harvin was traveling east on I-26 near mile marker 187 when his truck ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned and hit several trees.
Harvin was airlifted to MUSC, but pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m. The cause was determined to be head and body trauma. The death has been ruled accidental.
At this time, it is unknown if Harvin was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
