WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Colleton County authorities are now offering an $8,000 reward for information that will lead them to the person who shot a 65-year-old man at a construction site in Walterboro last July.
Randall Herndon was shot three times in the back of the head and shoulder while unloading a piece of heavy equipment from a trailer at J.H. Hiers Construction Co. on Green Pond Highway on July 16.
He is now in stable condition.
Colleton County sheriff's investigators say they are chasing down all leads but haven't received much information lately.
In addition to a $1,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers, a group of residents have put up $7,000 of their own money for any person "who plays a significant role in providing information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest in this crime," according to Frank Morea, public information officer for Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
