Deputies spot crack, marijuana in front seat of man's car

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) – Orangeburg County deputies have arrested a Vance man for drug trafficking during a street investigation.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenel said deputies were patrolling the Surfside Court area in Vance at 11:00pm Wednesday night when they stopped to speak to Dantonio Demont Washington. During the interview, Leroy said officers observed a "cookie" of crack and baggies of cocaine and marijuana in plain view in the front seat of his vehicle.

Washington was charged with trafficking crack, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. Bond was set at $30,000.

"Our investigators are working around the clock to ensure criminal activity has no place in Orangeburg County," said Ravenel. "Criminals do not have regular business hours and neither do we."
