Man accused of murdering wife to be transported back to Charleston

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The man suspected of stabbing his wife to death Friday in West Ashley will be transported back to Charleston County on Monday after his capture and arrest in Sumter County over the weekend.

Chesley Jones Black Jr., 29, will be brought back to Charleston County to face murder charges in the stabbing death of his wife, 25-year-old Amanda Kalman Black.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. Friday, Charleston County sheriff's deputies responded to 2103 Fife Lane for a report of a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies met with Charleston police officers and located a deceased female, later identified as Amanda Black. Detectives began searching for Chesley Black for questioning.

Black was located around midnight Friday in Sumter County and has been held at the Sumter County Jail pending his return to Charleston County.

A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m.
