SC teen sentenced for killing his pregnant mother

CHESTERFIELD, S.C. (AP) - A Darlington County teen has been sentenced to 36 years in prison for killing his pregnant mother nearly three years ago.

Seventeen-year-old Taveio Rauolbilla Boston of Lamar was charged as an adult on two counts of murder, one for his mother and the other for her unborn daughter.

Police say Sherryle Evonne Terry and her unborn daughter were shot to death at the family's home on Oct. 26, 2008.

Boston pleaded guilty Wednesday in Chesterfield. He also pleaded guilty to assault and battery with intent to kill for shooting his then-12-year-old sister, Cierra Alford, who survived.

Boston was given credit for the three years he has been in jail.

He told Circuit Court Judge Paul Burch he didn't realize how much rage and pain he felt at the time.
