CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The aunt of a man shot to death at a downtown Charleston apartment Friday morning says the victim was waiting for a ride when the shots were fired.
The woman, who asked not to be identified said she was asleep upstairs when 21 year old Thomas Tony Shine was gunned down by the back door of her Line St. apartment.
"I just heard the bang, bang, bang, get downstairs, see the holes through the back door," she said. "He ran from the back door holding himself to the living room, laid out right here, gasping, gasping. He was practically gone I guess before the ambulance got here."
Shine, of North Charleston died at the scene of the shooting. Police spokesman Charles Francis said detectives have no suspect identified and no motive for the murder.
