ST. STEPHEN, SC (WCSC) - A St. Stephen church that sheltered a man when a tornado struck is being rebuilt.
The Refuge Temple is currently being rebuilt after it was destroyed by a tornado in April.
A cleaning man, Craig Robinson, was trapped in the church when the tornado hit the church but left a small piece of entrance intact where Robinson says he was able to get out.
"When it was all over, I just stood up and noticed that the front door was opened up," Robinson said."The lord just opened up the front door for me, because I usually have it locked. So I just walked out and looked around and said,'Wow.'"
The church has enough money to begin construction, but not enough money for completion. The church is working closely with the project manager and working on plans.
Completion of the church is scheduled for sometime next year.
