WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Residents in Williamsburg County learned more about possible locations for a proposed 400,000-ton landfill.
About 25 people voiced their opinions Tuesday night during a packed public hearing. Following a special session of the county council, three possible locations were announced.
The locations are Salters and Roper Woods located in the northeast part of the county and Cade Tract near Lake City in the northern part of the county.
Since March, the county has been without a landfill, closing the one in Salters because it wasn't up to code.
County council members say the dump will bring more than just trash, saying it will save the county money.
