CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Visitors to Charleston this weekend can see what local museums have to offer simply by purchasing a pass.
Starting Friday and continuing through Sunday, visitors can tour the Museum Mile. The pass allows them to visit museums and other historic sites along the route on and near Meeting Street. Along the mile, people can visit six museums, five historic houses, four parks and the Revolutionary War powder magazine.
The pass is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. The same admissions, if purchased separately, would cost more than $100 for adults.
The event was started in 2008 as a cooperative marketing effort by the nonprofit organizations that operate the sites.
