ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office reeled in the 2011 Palmetto Bluefish Tournament Agency Championship Saturday in Orangeburg.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says "We were pleased to host the tournament this year and give law enforcement anglers a chance to enjoy a day of fishing in our county. This tournament was an opportunity for some light-hearted competition between agencies as well as a chance to raise money to support our local children's home."

OCSO also won the Championship Award in 2009. Each year a drawing is held for all anglers who participate and in 2010 OCSO won the participation prize - an NDI license plate reader system.

Agencies participating this year were: Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, St. George Police Department, the Department of Natural Resources, Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, and the Summerville Police Department.

Proceeds from this year's tournament benefited the Connie Maxwell Children's Home Brookland Campus. To date, the tournament has donated more than $20,000 to local children's homes.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division won the NDI license plate reader during this year's tournament.
