According to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office, Brittany Aigoro of Pineville was visiting friends at a house when she was shot and killed.

Deputies say the shooter or shooters drove up to the house and fired into the home, leaving bullet holes all over the house, inside and out.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says that Aigoro was shot and killed around 12:30 a.m. at a home located at 1510 Russellville Road near St. Stephen.

Investigators do not believe the woman was the intended target.

Deputies say the suspect or suspects shot into the house and drove off. They never went inside or tried to get inside the home.

The victim's mother saw her daughter's body lying on the porch when she got to the house.

"Brittany was sitting in the living room in the chair by the door, and whoever shot my baby, they shot through the door and they hit her on the arm and it opened up her arm," said Gail Jenkins. "What was the purpose? What was the point to just take innocent people's lives?"

Mozell Smith's son was also injured in the shooting and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Smith owns the home, but wasn't at the home at the time of the shooting. A bullet hole was found close to her bed.

"Yes, I am scared. I'm scared for my children, I'm scared for myself. I'm afraid," Smith said.

At least 20 bullet holes were counted at the crime scene. There are no suspects at this time. The death is under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the Sheriff's Office.

If anyone has information on the incident you are asked to call the sheriff's office at (843) 719-4412 or you can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
